Google Forms

One of the most powerful collaborative tools available (and they're free!) are the Google Suite of Apps and one of the best, and by far the easiest, data gatherer is Google Forms / Spreadsheets.  This page is a short visual tutorial on how to create custom forms, view, assess and organize the collected data using our Cabarrus Apps accounts.

Where to Start?

Creating a New Form

  • Click on "Create new" and choose Form.

  • Click on the "Theme" button to choose your form background then go back to editing.

  • Click on "Add item" to choose what type of question you want to add to the form; you have several choices:

    • Text (short answer)
    • Paragraph text (longer answer)
    • Multiple choice
    • Checkboxes
    • Dropdown list
    • Scale (1-10)
    • Grid
    • Page Break
    • Header

  • Type in the question, enter choices if checkbox or dropdown list, decide if it's required and click "Done."

  • If you want to change the order of your questions, simply drag and drop the yellow boxes.

Sharing a Form

  • Choose how you want to share the form from the top of the page.
    • Allow users to edit responses
    • Require Cabarrus users to sign-in to view the form
      • If you uncheck this box, everyone outside the District can view it.
    • Collect the username
      • Uncheck to make form anonymous

  • You can copy the link at the bottom of the page and paste it in an email to give to others to fill out.

  • Or you can click the "Email this form" button to mail it from your Cabarrus Apps email account.

Viewing the Collected Data

  • Click on the "See responses" window and choose to see the data in a spreadsheet or in charts!
